happy 4th y'all!! will be observing fireworks this year from a rooftop deck... can see at least 5 different displays from there... plus all roofs in area apparantly have a little "my fireworks are more illegal than your fireworks" competition... good times!

July 4th

Brings back memories of drunken parties we can't remember. Well, we remember bits and pieces. Like playing "bobbing for hamburgers," which involved lowering your face to the grill and picking up your hamburger with your teeth. And "firecracker golf," which is self-explanatory.

But July 4th isn't about getting shitfaced and playing Flaming Frisbee Chicken. It's about Freedom with a capital "F". And we never forget it. If our forefathers hadn't, some 11 score and change ago, decided to say no more, we'd be speaking English now, instead of good old American.

That's why when people ask us why we don't put anything on our hot dogs, we answer, "We do. We slather them with democracy."

Could one of y'all send me up some freedom fries?

my mom's birthday is on the 5th
this year she's coming through town, spending the night with us... and the boy's having a barbeque & pool party at his place just a few blocks away... ribs, tri-tip, potato salad.

seems somehow I have lost weight—either some more, again, or have kept it off... but I'm down to 180 this week—a fifteen-year roll-back, I've been above 187 since I can remember...

got room to eat, know wut I'm sayin?

so I thought that I'd celebrate in sympathy with ya's. with 'roo burgers and prawns, a trendy lemon/lime infused beer while I cooked on the bbq and a red wine at the dinner table. The only thing missing was the fireworks!

So Walt, that means you either must have a new wardrobe of clothes or are walking around with your strides falling down all the time?
I've been fortunate enough to keep myself at the same weight but shift it back to where it really belongs instead of where it tries to fall to.

We had a good one out on a rooftop in Bushwick. There was a band and a few djs, and somewhere over near Williambsburg a building caught fire. (I think it was Williamsburg, at least that looked like the direction it was coming from.)
